That’s just it though, the Message is a paraphrase, not a technical translation. It is meant to help readers understand the meaning of passages rather than a word for word translation. Many of the men and women who are incarcerated have a very difficult time understanding the scripture as translated in most modern versions. The message makes it accessible to those. We do this on purpose, for the sake of those who would otherwise not understand.

I truly wanted to listen to this message, but the ’Message Bible” reading totally hit a spot in me. I had conviction the minute I heard the complete change of the word that’s in other translations.
